JUSTICE FOR IMIGRANTS…a journey of hope

Pres. George W. Bush, 2/2/05 State of the Union Address:  “We should not be content with laws that punish hardworking people who want only to provide for their families, and deny business willing workers, and invite chaos at our border.  It is time for an immigration policy that permits temporary guest workers to fill jobs Americans will not take.”  450,000 low-skilled, service industries jobs were created in 2006.  (U.S. Dept. of Labor 2006)  Only 5,000 visas were available to fill these jobs.  (U.S. Dept. of State Visa Bulletin for April 2007)
