As you know our class is participating in Scholastic Book Club this year. During the school year I will send home Club flyers. You’ll find award-winning books, as well as old and new favorites. I recommend them because the books span a wide range of children’s reading levels and interests and because they are inexpensive (some books cost less than $1).
It is easy to order. This month’s flyers are attached. Just look over the flyers with your child, select the books you want, mark them on the order form on the back of the flyer, and return the order form to me with payment in cash or a check payable to Scholastic Book Clubs by Wednesday, October 3. If you are paying with a check you may write one check for your entire order made out to Scholastic Books. You do not need to write separate checks for each particular club. The books will arrive about two weeks after I send the class order to Scholastic.
Each order helps earn free books and teaching materials for our classroom, however, there is never any obligation to order. Each year I’ve been able to order free books for our classroom library. These books get a lot of use! The children are required to always have a reading book in their desk in class to read if they finish their work early. They may also borrow any books from our class library to read at home.
