
A hot lunch or bagels can be selected as the main lunch menu. Sandwiches and salads are no longer available for the main lunch menu. A variety of fresh fruit, fruit juices and vegetables will be offered daily. Each hot lunch purchase receives a main lunch menu item (hot lunch of the day or bagel), fresh fruit or vegetable and milk.
Lunch credits may be purchased on Thursday of every week, with the exception of a school cancellation. In the event of a cancellation, lunch credits will be sold the day after students return to class. You may purchase any number of lunch credits at one time. Checks should be made payable to Manchester Public Schools (MPS). Money should be sent to the school in an envelope marked for Mrs. Miffitt. Please have your students full name and grade on the envelope as well. Please note the importance of sending payment in a sealed envelope; this assures that your payment will be credited in full.
If you have any lunch tickets left over from last year, you may send them in to school as you would when you purchase lunch credits. I will apply them as credits to your children's accounts.
Parents are responsible for retaining the child's balance. Credits will be applied to your child's account Thursday upon payment and will be taken off each time lunch is purchased. Once the students account runs low, I will send home a reminder, so that they do not run out of lunch credits. Children may also check the cafeteria for their balance, should they need to do so.
Each child has their own account. When you send in a check, you may send one check to cover the family or one per child, whichever you prefer. If you send in one check, I will divide it evenly between the children's accounts.
In the event that a child has no more credit but needs to purchase a hot lunch, they will be allowed to charge an emergency lunch. Should your child charge an emergency lunch, a payment reminder will be sent home. Please do not abuse the emergency lunch program. It is designed to provide lunch in the event of a child misplacing his/her lunch or not having sufficient funds.
Hot lunch costs $1.60 for students, $2.25 for adults and $.40 for reduced lunch.
Milk may be purchased separately for $.35. Water may be purchased separately for $.50. Milk and water are to be purchased by cash on a daily basis, not as credit in advance.
