Dear Parents,


Welcome to Second Grade! I hope you will have a great year. I look forward to working with your child and I hope they are looking forward to this great year. I will try to be available as much as 1 can for you. I can tell you now that Mondays and Thursdays are not good. Monday is CCD and Thursdays I have Theology class. If you call and 1 do not get back to you right away, it is because 1 am not able to at the moment, not because I don't want to.

Some things to consider:

Homework- usually Spelling sentences on Monday, some Math during the week. Please, a must - practicing of Math Facts and daily Reading is a BIG help. No written homework on weekends but the continuation of Math Facts and Reading would be great! The students write down the homework and I will sign the assignment pad so that you know it is correct.

Writing -I will not be sending home a lot of the writing we do -I have a file that we will be keeping so that it will be ongoing. If you wish to see your child's work, please feel free to call me to set a time where you can come in and see it.

Money - Please do not send money into school with your child unless it is in an envelope and marked.

Snacks - The children work very hard. Please send in a snack with your child on a daily basis. By 10:00, they are very hungry, and they tell me it's a long wait to lunch!

First Penance and First Holy Communion - Dates of meetings will be given at a later time when I find out from Sister Colleen.

Volunteering - The schedule will be coming out later this month. I don't know if anyone else is interested, but please let me know if you are. Thank you to those who have offered so far.

Your Child- Is there anything you think I should know about your child that would be helpful to their learning? Let me know if there is. This will be kept strictly confidential.

Field Trips- Towards the second half of the year we will go to see some plays, and then on a big field trip. Details to come at a later date!
